Davis Productivity Awards

2003 DAVIS PRODUCTIVITY AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Will Be Posted Here In Early November

The Davis Productivity Awards honor innovation, creativity and smart work that measurably increases performance and productivity in the delivery of state services and products.

Cash award categories between $300 and $2,500 plus commemorative plaques, certificates of commendation and letters of honorable mention are presented annually to:

q       Individuals, teams and work units;

q       Entire state agencies or their divisions, regions, districts and institutions; and

q        All of the above for adapting and implementing previous year's award winning achievements, which are posted at www.floridataxwatch.org/dpa and download 1999, 2000 and 2001 Adaptable achievements.  E mail questions to ddavis@floridataxwatch.org

Nomination forms will be posted to the website by April 1, 2002. The deadline for submission will be set by your Agency Awards Coordinator (click "Agency Coordinators"). Award winners will be notified in October and presentations will be held throughout the state in November and December.

Particularly welcome for the 2003 competition are:

A.       Nominations of achievements that can be adapted and implemented by other state or local government employees, teams, work units or agencies

B.       Nominations of clerical and “blue collar” workers’ achievements

C.      Nominations of top ranked individuals and work units among those performing similar jobs in an agency

D.  Nominations of achievements that are specifically and measurably related to a Bush/Brogan Administration priority (improve student achievement; reduce violent crime and illegal drug use; create a business climate that is conducive to economic opportunity; help the most vulnerable among us; enhance Florida’s environment and quality of life; and create a smaller, more effective, more efficient government that fully harnesses the power of technology to achieve these priorities)

E.  Nominations relating to implementation of the Service First initiative

F.  Nominations that document a benefit to all or specific citizens or to the private sector

G. Nominations that are initiated by external or internal customers of individual employees, teams, work units or agencies
