Necati Aydin, Ph.D.
Dr. Aydin has served as a Senior Research Analyst at Florida TaxWatch Research Institute since August 2004. He is an expert in education and economics. He has contributed to several research projects, including "Educator Preparation Institutes at Florida Community Colleges will Help to Prevent Severe Teacher Shortage", March 2005; "Comparative Evaluation of Project CHILD: Phase IV", March 2005; "Putting an Ever-Increasing Minimum Wage in the State Constitution Is Misguided", October 2004; and "The Impact of Hurricane Charley and Frances on the Florida Outdoor Advertising Industry′s Impact on Florida′s Economy", September 2004. Dr. Aydin also teaches at Florida A & M University as an Adjunct Professor of Economics. He has taught many courses, including the Introduction to Econometrics, Public Finance, Principle of Economics I & II, Labor Economics, International Trade, Wage and Salary Administration, Comparative Economic Systems, Managerial Economics, and History of Economic Thought. Prior to joining Florida TaxWatch, Dr. Aydin worked as a research associate at the Florida State University Center for Economic Forecasting and Analysis (CEFA). His research at CEFA involved a variety of topics including high technology, commercialization of super conducting materials, health care, energy, education, and environmental economics. Dr. Aydin is married with three daughters, two of whom attend Sealey Elementary School. |
